Monitor, always a monitor. They are set up better to handle the needs of a PC. i have a 42" HD TV that i have as my second desktop (so i can watch video files on my TV - i also use it as a normal TV), and a 19" monitor for my first desktop (i can move items and programs between the two) my monitor resolution goes up to 1600x1200 but the maximum i can put on my TV is 1024x768, after that it goes grey and says 'no pc input' on the TV screen.

p.s. any screen will leave a image burned into it if left alone for long enough. This is why there are things called screensavers, if you put one of these on even if its something simple like the Windows logo flying across the screen it will be refreshed from time to time and prevent any image being left on the screen, or you could just do what i do and turn the screen off every time i leave my desk.

I think 26" monitor is your best choice. Because you want to read text clearly , Big TV will have small text and will be difficult to read.

I play my Ps3 on my 22" AOC 2216Vw HD screen ;-)

So I know what you should do.

_____________________________________________________________

First of all you should buy a DVI to HDMI cable to connect the monitor to your PS3.

The DVI end on your monitor and the HDMI end on your Ps3.

The DVI should look like this IF YOUR DVI PORT IS 24 PIN, http://www.trademe.co.nz/Computers/Cables/Other/auction-169965385.htm or like this IF YOUR DVI PORT IS 18 PIN http://www.trademe.co.nz/Gaming/Playstation-3/Accessories/auction-170509575.htm

__________________________________________________________

DVI doesn't carry sounds you know so you you have to run your sounds seperately.

Look here for more info, it really helped me alot and ask him about the sounds on how to get it. He can help you. http://www.thecareergamer.com/?p=205#comment-751

Comment on Is there any difference between a computer monitor and an LCD TV if they both have the same resolution? by tjwags

For the TV you have to see if it is a 1080p or 1080i the difference is that the 1080p refreshes all lines per cycle where the 1080i only does every other line per cycle. A computer refreshes every line so it would need to be 1080p The other difference could be the refresh rate at the maximum resolution. Better monitors will have a faster refresh rate.

The TV will have a TV tuner in it, which lets you hook up to the cable in your wall. The TV may also have more inputs than the monitor. Other than this, I don't believe there would be much other differences that would be noticeable.

The frame rate of monitors may differ. As the computer monitor maybe 5ms and the TV 8ms or more. So depending on how close you'll be watching the screen should adjust your decision. If close a computer monitor if you going to use it for watching movie etc than go for the TV.
